The clients envisioned this finished loft above the garage as a multifunctional retreat: a productive home office, ample storage solution, and a quiet escape from the energy of family life below. Anchored by a light, restrained color palette that allows natural light to do the heavy lifting, the design philosophy leans into the idea that minimalism finds its strength in simplicity rather than ornamentation. Every decision was made in service of a space that feels both purposeful and deeply livable, with simple forms that echo and pay respect to the architectural language of the main residence.

The resulting aesthetic, which we’re calling Farmhouse Loft, layers warmth and timeless sophistication in equal measure. Warm wood tones, classic lighting selections, and traditional wall detailing establish a lived-in foundation, while a careful curation of antiques and personal objects introduces character without clutter. Chrome and brass accents move through the space with quiet confidence, and rich moody undertones lend depth to an otherwise serene palette.
