The Elevated Farmhouse

The clients had been searching the neighborhood for their dream home when they discovered this early-1900s residence during its renovation. The project more than doubled the home’s original square footage with the addition of a second story and a new basement level, while fully modernizing all systems for contemporary living. Throughout the transformation, the original architectural character of the home was carefully preserved.

The design concept, Historic Recasting, focused on balancing traditional architecture with modern functionality. Through timeless materials, layered textures, and a refined minimal approach, the home was thoughtfully reimagined to feel both historic and contemporary, resulting in a curated, enduring living space.
